Evaporative Cooler Tips

• When operating an evaporative cooler, always ensure that some doors or windows are slightly open so that the fresh, cool air produced by the air conditioner can easily flush out the hot air inside your home. The air moves from the cooler out through the slightly open windows. Want only the bedroom cooled? Close all other windows and slightly open the bedroom window to draw the cool air.

• On rainy days, turn off the water pump and run the fan only.

• Close drapes and blinds when the sun is shining on the windows.

• Turn the cooler system on especially in early morning, late evening, and night when the outside air is cooler. You get maximum cooling during these times.

• Use portable and ceiling fans to help circulate the cool air and allow for a breeze on your skin.

• Turn off the cooler and let Janice know immediately if the cooler is not functioning properly.

• Let Janice know if there is water dripping from the cooler or roof.
